Lactation Services by Lisa Mascio-Thompson, IBCLC

Lisa Mascio-Thompson has been working with breastfeeding dyads since 2007. She began by volunteering with La Leche League, an internationally-recognized breastfeeding support group, and has been an accredited and a trained leader with the group for 5 years.  In addition, in 2010, she passed the exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  She is also currently an IBCLC with the Breastfeeding Center at Clark Memorial Hospital.  Lisa is here for your needs whether it be for 3 weeks or 3 years.



In-home private prenatal classes (1.5 hour): $45
These classes are recommended to be taken before your baby is born. They will be tailored to your needs, but you can expect the following topics to be discussed: OR topics that we will discuss include (but are not limited to):

• immediately after the birth: skin-to-skin and the first latch
• what to do if you have a cesarean
• how the milk transitions from colostrum to mature milk
• how to recognize feeding cues
• common misconceptions
• establishing and maintaining a good milk supply
• positioning and latch
• obstacles and barriers of breastfeeding
• the first days home with baby, what to expect

 

In-home initial consult (up to two hours): $125
During this time, we will discuss your birth, any past breastfeeding history, any medical history that can inhibit breastfeeding, assessment of baby’s latch, positioning and transfer of milk, and creating a feeding plan. This consult is also available if you are having breastfeeding difficulties.

Follow-up consult: $50/hour
Follow up on preexisting issues, answering new concerns, reexamine latch, checking weight and revise any feeding plans we developed.

**Depending on location, there may be an additional gas sur-charge of $10.00
